McPherson Square occupies a one point six-acre city block in downtown Washington, defined by K Street to the north, I Street to the south, and Fifteenth Street to the west and east. Laid out as part of Pierre Charles L'Enfant's seventeen ninety-one plan for the city, the square is a formal park space featuring concrete paths that cross through six triangular lawn panels.
