The Patterson Mansion stands at fifteen Dupont Circle as one of the last two private houses remaining from the era when the circle was lined with grand residences. Completed in nineteen oh three, the Neoclassical structure was designed by Stanford White of the prominent firm McKim, Mead and White for Robert Patterson, editor of the Chicago Tribune, and his wife, Elinor.
