Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge

landmark

The Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge is a six-lane, reinforced concrete arch bridge spanning the Potomac River to connect Georgetown with Rosslyn, Virginia. Completed in nineteen twenty-three, it is the oldest road bridge across the river in Washington. You can distinguish its design by its elegant, simple Classical style, featuring large Doric pilasters on its piers, which was created by architect Nathan C. Wyeth and engineer Major Max C. Tyler.
