Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown is the oldest Roman Catholic community and house of worship in continuous operation in both Georgetown and Washington, District of Columbia. The original building, completed in seventeen ninety-four, stands on N Street and is now known as the Chapel of Saint Ignatius. The larger structure that defines the main church today was dedicated in eighteen fifty-one to accommodate the growing congregation.
