The Washington and Wells station is defined by a white steel and glass canopy that stretches the length of a full city block above the street. It is a modern transit hub, opened in July nineteen ninety-five to consolidate and replace the older Randolph and Wells and Madison and Wells stations. The platform structure is elevated, carrying passengers on the Brown, Orange, Purple, and Pink lines of the Chicago L.
