The Cedar Cultural Center

The Cedar Cultural Center occupies a building that opened as a movie house in nineteen forty-eight. You can recognize the structure by its history as the Cedar Theater, which operated as a cinema for decades before its conversion into a non-profit music venue in nineteen eighty-nine. The transformation took hold when the space was donated to the Society for Traditional Arts and Resources, and it quickly became known for an interior layout that allows audiences to sit in a semicircle around performers, placing spectators no more than thirty feet from the stage.
