A thirty-two-foot-tall earthen mound rises from the center of this seven-and-a-half-acre park, featuring a spiral walkway that leads to a grove of trees at its peak. Opened in two thousand seven, Gold Medal Park takes its name from the flour brand produced by the adjacent Washburn Mills, now known as the Mill City Museum. The site was designed by landscape architect Tom Oslund to transform a former industrial area of railroad tracks and parking lots into a green space for the downtown riverfront.
