Minneapolis Central Library

The Minneapolis Central Library is defined by a metal wing that projects over its primary entrance, reaching out from the glass facade to mark its presence on the city block. Inside, a six-story atrium known as the Commons slices through the center of the building, filling the space with natural light. Designed by architect Cesar Pelli and opened in May two thousand six, this facility holds over two million items, making it the flagship location for the Hennepin County Library system.
