Constructed in nineteen eleven, the building housed the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Company, a massive operation that once filled the air with the scent of crackers and cookies. The owners famously utilized the large windows on the building's north side, claiming their baked goods were made in Minneapolis sunshine. Reporters at the time noted the ovens were kept on the highest floor, safely away from street-level dust and insects.
