Minneapolis City Hall

Minneapolis City Hall is a massive, castle-like structure of rough-cut pink granite, easily identified by its towering clock tower that rises three hundred and forty-five feet above the street. Designed by architects Franklin Long and Frederick Kees, the building was constructed between eighteen eighty-nine and nineteen oh-five to serve both the Minneapolis city government and Hennepin County. It occupies an entire downtown block, its design characterized by steep rooflines, rounded arches, and the green copper patina of its roof.
