Ard Godfrey House

The Ard Godfrey House is recognized as the oldest surviving wood-frame home in Minneapolis. It is a one-and-a-half-story building with a gable roof and two redbrick chimneys. Ard Godfrey, a millwright from Maine, built the structure in eighteen forty-nine to house his family after he moved to the area to supervise the construction of the first commercial dam and sawmill at Saint Anthony Falls.
