Rand Tower Hotel, Minneapolis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The Rand Tower stands twenty-six stories tall as a stepped skyscraper of Indiana Bedford limestone, narrowing toward the top in a distinct Art Moderne profile. Built in nineteen twenty-nine, the structure features canted corners and vertical piers rising through its central bays, with geometric and floral designs carved into the panels between window stories. Above the Marquette Avenue entrance, relief sculptures depict Mercury holding biplanes in his palms, a nod to the building's original owner.
