The IDS Center is recognized by its shimmering, blue-green glass tower that features a zigzagging, stepped design. Completed in nineteen seventy-three, this fifty-seven-story skyscraper reaches seven hundred ninety-two feet to its roof, making it the tallest building in Minnesota. The complex includes the tower, the nineteen-story Marquette Hotel, and an eight-story annex, all anchored by the Crystal Court. This central, glass-enclosed atrium acts as an indoor public plaza and serves as the hub for the city’s skyway system.
