The TractorWorks Building at eight hundred North Washington Avenue is recognized by the stone carvings of deer heads that adorn its entrance. This structure is actually a pair of buildings: a six-story timber frame construction from nineteen hundred and two, and an adjacent nine-story concrete addition built in nineteen hundred and ten. Its architecture is one of the most prominent examples of Richardsonian Romanesque style in the city’s warehouse district, featuring thick brick walls and timber columns that were once functional necessities for heavy industrial work.
