Santa Fe Railyard Park

A prominent blue water tank rises above the Santa Fe Railyard Park, serving as a landmark that hints at the site's industrial past. This thirteen-acre park occupies land where the Denver and Rio Grande and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railway systems once converged. For over a century, these tracks supported coal depots, lumberyards, and warehouses that functioned as a vital hub for the city. After the railroads declined in the mid-twentieth century, the area became a collection of dusty lots and deteriorating structures.
