The Hotel St. George occupies the entire city block bounded by Henry, Pineapple, Clark, and Hicks Streets in Brooklyn Heights. Its most identifying feature is its status as a massive, multi-structure complex that serves as the street-level entrance to the Clark Street subway station. Built in sections between eighteen eighty-five and nineteen twenty-nine, the hotel grew to become the largest in New York City, once boasting over two thousand six hundred rooms.
