Marie’s Crisis Café is marked by a red-and-white striped awning over the door of a white brick building on Grove Street. It operates as a basement piano bar, a space known for nightly sing-alongs of Broadway show tunes. The name is a composite of the bar’s original owner, Marie DuMont, and the pamphlet series "The American Crisis" by the revolutionary writer Thomas Paine.
