Milam Park

Milam Park is distinguished by a twenty-six-foot copper-domed gazebo known as the Jalisco Pavilion, which features ornate cast-iron columns and a cantera stone base. Occupying four acres in downtown San Antonio, the space was originally a public cemetery established in eighteen forty-eight. After the city closed the burial ground in the eighteen sixties and relocated most interments, officials officially dedicated the site as a park in January eighteen eighty-four.
