The Edgewater Hotel sits directly over the waters of Elliott Bay, making it the only hotel in Seattle built on a pier. Constructed for the nineteen sixty-two Century Twenty-One World’s Fair, it occupies the site of the former Galbraith-Bacon Pier. The building rests on pilings, which means that guests sleep, dine, and gather while suspended above the surface of Puget Sound.
