Beecher's Handmade Cheese is identifiable by the large, glass-walled kitchen that allows visitors to watch the cheesemaking process from the sidewalk. Located in the heart of Pike Place Market, this facility was opened in two thousand three by Kurt Beecher Dammeier. Dammeier, who had no professional background in cheesemaking, decided to launch the business after noticing a vacant space in the market and realizing he wanted to create a site where people could see exactly how their food was made.
