The William Barak Bridge is a five hundred twenty-five meter long pedestrian footbridge stretching between Birrarung Marr and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Its steel form traverses electrified rail lines and busy roads to connect the city's sports precinct with the riverfront. The bridge takes its name from William Barak, a nineteenth-century Wurundjeri leader, artist, and diplomat who worked to secure land and justice for his people at the Coranderrk settlement.
