Roedde House Museum

museum

Roedde House is a late-Victorian home at fourteen fifteen Barclay Street, identifiable by its Queen Anne Revival style, which features an asymmetrical layout, a prominent cupola, and wrap-around verandas. Built in eighteen ninety-three for Gustav and Matilda Roedde, it represents the residence of one of the city's earliest immigrant families. Gustav, a German immigrant, arrived in Vancouver to establish the city's first commercial bookbindery, and he commissioned the house at a time when he had achieved significant local success.
