Vogue Theatre

The Vogue Theatre is defined by a towering neon sign topped with a golden silhouette of the Roman goddess Diana. It stands on Granville Street as one of the last remaining venues from the city's once-famed Theatre Row. Designed by architects Kaplan and Sprachman and completed in nineteen forty-one, this Art Deco building was originally constructed as both a movie house and a performing arts space. It is a National Historic Site of Canada, recognized for its streamlined architecture and its early integration of modulated lighting systems that could simulate sunrises and sunsets within the auditorium.
