The geodesic dome at the eastern end of False Creek is recognizable by its shimmering surface, composed of seven hundred and sixty-six silver aluminum triangles. Designed by architect Bruno Freschi, the structure was built to serve as the Expo Centre for the nineteen eighty-six World’s Fair, a six-month event that brought over twenty-two million visitors to the city.
