Griffintown St. Ann's Park

Parc Griffintown St. Ann is recognizable by the low, visible stone foundations that trace the outline of a building that once dominated this city block. These remnants mark the site of St. Ann's Church, which opened in eighteen fifty-four as the spiritual and social center for the Irish Catholic laborers who made this neighborhood their home. For over a century, the church served as the anchor for a working-class community that was often called the Griff.
