Copenhagen City Hall is defined by its slender, one-hundred-five-point-six-meter-tall clock tower that rises above the surrounding low-rise city skyline. Constructed between eighteen ninety-two and nineteen oh five, the building is a centerpiece of the National Romantic architectural style. Architect Martin Nyrop drew inspiration from the medieval Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, Italy, to design a structure that served as a grand, representative home for the city’s growing administration.
