Den Grønne Genbrugshal is recognizable by its expansive, weathered green wooden exterior, housed within a building that dates to eighteen forty-seven. Originally constructed to serve as a riding hall for the Bådsmandsstræde Barracks, the structure was repurposed in nineteen seventy-eight after residents of Christiania decided at a general meeting that it should operate as a building supply store.
