The Église Saint-Polycarpe is recognizable by its monumental classical facade, which features four tall Corinthian pilasters supporting a triangular pediment. Built by the Oratorian order on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse hill, the structure was completed in sixteen seventy, though the facade was not added until seventeen fifty-six by the architect Toussaint-Noël Loyer.
