Montée de la Grande Côte

other

The Montée de la Grande Côte is a steep, four-hundred-meter pedestrian path that climbs the Croix-Rousse hill. You can identify it by the intense incline that links the Place des Capucins near the city center to the plateau above, lined with a mix of sixteenth-century houses and more recent architecture. This route served for centuries as a primary gateway for goods and workers moving between the city and the northern countryside.
