22 Rue du Général de Castelnau

The building at twenty-two Rue du Général de Castelnau stands out for its curved, convex facades that meet at a sharp triangular point where it sits at the corner of Rue du Maréchal Foch. Completed in nineteen oh three, this structure was designed by the architects Franz Lütke and Heinrich Backes. At the time, they were among the most prolific designers of Art Nouveau housing in Strasbourg, and they chose to move their own professional architectural office into this very building upon its completion.
