Alsatian Museum

museum

The Alsatian Museum occupies a collection of half-timbered houses along the Quai Saint-Nicolas, easily identified by their sloping roofs and the intricate, crisscrossing wood patterns that frame their facades. Established in nineteen oh seven, these structures house over five thousand artifacts dedicated to preserving the rural and domestic history of the region. Visitors typically navigate a maze of creaking wooden staircases and narrow connecting passages that link the original buildings together, moving through reconstructed interiors such as the traditional communal living room known as a stub.
