L'Atelier du Relieur, located at nine rue de Haguenau, preserves a tradition of bookbinding that has passed from father to son since nineteen forty-nine. Inside, artisans Bertrand and Dominique Magar practice techniques including gilding, marbling, and the restoration of ancient texts. The workshop holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, a distinction awarded by the French government to recognize companies with rare and expert industrial or artisanal skills.
