The Quai du Wault is a peaceful, enclosed basin of water framed by Flemish-style houses. It once served as one of two vital commercial ports for the city of Lille, known historically as the Petit Rivage. While the other port was eventually filled in, this basin remains, linked to the city's history as a site where goods were once exchanged along the Deûle river.
