The Old Cemetery of Neuilly-sur-Seine is marked by high walls and a collection of intricate nineteenth-century funerary sculpture, including busts and medallions that have earned it status as a protected heritage site. Established in eighteen oh eight through a land exchange with Marshal Joachim Murat, who held the nearby Château de Villiers, it replaced an earlier, overcrowded burial ground on the Rue des Poissonniers.
