The Hôtel Arturo Lopez, located at twelve rue du Centre in Neuilly-sur-Seine, is a nineteenth-century mansion defined by its deliberate, miniature recreation of Versailles. Built in eighteen ninety-nine by the architect and music critic Paul Rodocanachi, the building features a renowned ballroom known as the shell room. This room, added in the nineteen fifties, uses intricate shell and mother-of-pearl patterns inspired by the shell cottage at the Château de Rambouillet.
