The Halle Saint-Pierre sits at the foot of the Montmartre hill, identifiable by its nineteenth-century cast-iron frame and glass facade. Originally built in eighteen sixty-eight as a covered market in the style of architect Victor Baltard, it later served as a local school and a municipal garage.
