Jardin Serge Gainsbourg

The Jardin Serge Gainsbourg is defined by a winding, gently sloping concrete path known as la ficelle, which snakes through the greenery to connect different levels of the park. Inaugurated in July two thousand ten, this one point four hectare public space is built directly over the top of the boulevard périphérique, the ring road that encircles Paris. By covering a portion of this highway, the garden was designed to link the nineteenth arrondissement with the neighboring towns of Les Lilas and Le Pré-Saint-Gervais, bridging a barrier created by the city's transport infrastructure.
