Hôtel d'Évreux

The Hôtel d’Évreux on the Place Vendôme is marked by a circular, diagonal entry passage that cuts through the building, a design necessity born from the awkward, irregular shape of its plot. Constructed between seventeen oh six and seventeen oh eight, this classic stone mansion was commissioned by the wealthy financier Antoine Crozat. He built it to house his daughter and her husband, the Count of Évreux, amidst the prestige of one of the city's most elegant squares.
