Esplanade Claude-Luter

The Esplanade Claude-Luter is a public space located in the twentieth arrondissement of Paris. It takes its name from the jazz clarinetist and bandleader Claude Luter, who was a prominent figure in the postwar Parisian music scene. Born in Paris in nineteen twenty-three, Luter became a fixture of the city's nightlife, performing in clubs throughout the Nazi occupation and later gaining recognition for his work alongside the American jazz pioneer Sidney Bechet.
