The Hôtel de Lassay is marked by tall arched windows and ornately decorated facades in an Italian style, positioned directly beside the Palais Bourbon. Built between seventeen twenty-two and seventeen twenty-eight, the mansion was designed as a private residence for Armand de Madaillan de Lesparre, the Marquis de Lassay. The project unfolded simultaneously with the construction of the neighboring Palais Bourbon, which belonged to his mistress, Louise-Françoise de Bourbon.
