The Cheminée du Front de Seine is a plain, white industrial chimney that rises one hundred thirty meters above the Grenelle district in the fifteenth arrondissement. It stands out from the surrounding skyline as the tallest structure in the neighborhood, exceeding the height of nearby residential towers by thirty meters. Designed by the sculptor François Stahly and built between nineteen seventy and nineteen seventy-one, its surface is intentionally smooth, broken only by aesthetic vents near the top.
