Saint-Jacques-Saint-Christophe de la Villette

Saint-Jacques-Saint-Christophe de la Villette is marked by a two-level neoclassical portico featuring Corinthian pilasters and a grand flight of stairs. Built between eighteen forty-one and eighteen forty-four, the church stands as a stone successor to a fourteenth-century village chapel that once served pilgrims traveling from Flanders toward Santiago de Compostela. Its name honors Saint James, the patron of those pilgrims, and Saint Christopher, the guardian of travelers.
