La Maison Rose is immediately recognizable for its pastel pink facade and distinctive green shutters, sitting at the intersection of rue de l'Abreuvoir and rue des Saules. Built around eighteen fifty, this structure became a landmark of the local artistic community in the early twentieth century after being purchased by the Catalan painter Ramon Pichot and his wife, Germaine Gargallo. Inspired by the brightly colored homes they encountered on a trip to Spain, Germaine painted the exterior pink, transforming it into a vibrant gathering spot for the neighborhood’s bohemian crowd.
