Hameau de Chantilly (Paris)

The Hameau de Chantilly is a collection of rustic, thatched cottages set within the gardens of the Château de Chantilly. You can identify these structures by their timber-framed facades, which evoke a countryside village despite their proximity to the grand architecture of the estate. Built in seventeen seventy-five for the Prince of Condé, these cottages were designed as a private place for leisure where aristocrats could retreat for refreshments and dances.
