Austurstræti number eight is a distinct modern building along the pedestrian-only Austurstræti street. You can pick it out by the contemporary design of its facade, which occupies the ground once held by a historic two-story timber house known as Ísafold. That older structure was once the home of the Ísafold Printing Works, a business deeply woven into the city’s early communications history before the house was eventually relocated to Aðalstræti number twelve.
