Triclinium

A triclinium is a specialized rock-cut chamber designed for ritual banquets rather than as a place for the dead. In Petra, these halls were built by the Nabataeans as settings for communal meals held to honor deities or ancestors. Stone benches carved along three sides of the interior walls provided space for guests during these spiritual gatherings.
