Entrepotdok

The Entrepotdok is a five-hundred-meter-long row of red-brick warehouses stretching along a canal in eastern Amsterdam. Built between seventeen oh eight and eighteen twenty-nine, these eighty-four monumental buildings once formed the largest storage complex in Europe. The site operated as a customs-free zone where merchants from across the globe could store goods temporarily without paying import duties, provided the cargo remained within the walled perimeter.
