Church of the Holy Cross

The Church of the Holy Cross on Warsaw's Krakowskie Przedmieście is distinguished by its twin Baroque towers and a broad stone staircase fronted by a prominent sculpture of Christ bearing the cross. Originally built as a small wooden chapel in the fifteenth century, the structure that stands today was constructed between sixteen seventy-nine and sixteen ninety-six.
