The Staszic Palace is a neoclassical building in central Warsaw, identifiable by its grand, symmetrical facade and the prominent statue of Nicolaus Copernicus standing in the square just before its entrance. Designed by the Italian architect Antonio Corazzi and completed in eighteen twenty-three, the palace was funded by the statesman Stanisław Staszic to serve as the headquarters for the Warsaw Society of Friends of Learning.
