Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw

The Hotel Bristol rises along Krakowskie Przedmieście as a massive neo-Renaissance block, distinguished by its rounded corner topped with a podium or belvedere. Opened in nineteen oh one, the building replaced the Tarnowski Palace through the efforts of partners including the famed pianist and future Polish Prime Minister Ignacy Jan Paderewski. While early designs for the hotel favored a strictly Art Nouveau aesthetic, the final facade was commissioned from architect Władysław Marconi to convey a sense of traditional, reliable elegance.
